A picture of a crashed aeroplane definitely will attract students to start guessing about the topic and what might have happened and as a teacher I would elicit many vocabulary related to aircraft accidents
To divide students into groups of four and Each group takes a different reading text from the other To set limited time for reading Ss should find what type of emergency happened during the flight. Did the situation end well After reading, students will tell another peer from the other groups about what had happened
To set the new task by showing the students three different pictures of unpleasant situations. Elicit as many vocabulary as possible to describe what had happened. in a language focus lesson, guided discovery help Ss find out the type of tense is going to be used to tell a story [ Target Language] Ss choose one topic and plan what they are going to say. They can tell a true or an invented anecdote with the help of 1- setting the scene where/when 2- the main event / with whom / how you felt 3- what happened in the end
To give Ss practice in the target productive skill. To give Ss planning time to prepare their stories and arrange their ideas To practice teling their stories to each other before speaking to someone else.
In pairs, Student A tells Student B his/her story Student B show interest and ask for more details. Tell Your partner whether you think the story is true or not. Ss swap roles
To provide Ss feedback on production and language Do delayed error correction based on notes taken while monitoring the speaking stage.
