To get the students involved in speaking and listening activites and develop their oral and auditory fluency
Subsidiary Aims

To provide clarification of language used for talking about a friend in the context of friend, best-friend, oldest friend

To provide accuracy speaking practice in a conversation in the context of friend
Procedure (34-44 minutes)
-Write down the names of my best friends, and note why I like them, when I first met them, and who is my oldest friend on the whiteboard and ask them to guess what it is -Hand out pictures of friends -Talk about what the pictures represent and what other activities could friends do together -Ask the class of what they love doing most with their friends
-SS will now write names of their friends and answer the questions.
-Make students look at the pictures in pairs and allow them to brainstorm for a while. -Then ask any volunteering pairs to talk about what their conclusion or guess is
-Play the track for students to take notes -Write down the names on the white board while they are listening -Replay tape if necessary for SS who have missed out to catch up -Make sure they have managed to take down enough notes -Ask SS to write their notes in the appropiate sections
-Play the track with durations -When they have finished, ask SS to write their answers on the white board and check whether the other students have answered correctly by telling them to stand up if they agree with the answer
-Divide the SS into groups depending on how many SS there are -Hand out seperate pieces of paper with words on them -Ask them to put them in order before the other groups and make them do this in a limited amount of time -Talk through the answers
