Procedure (47-59 minutes)
Ss will be given four pics with different unpleasant situations on holidays. They work in groups, give their opinions about the worst situation in order to find out the most unpleasant situation. For feedback, the answers will be compared
Let's imagine you want to tell your friend about your story. How can you do it? (elicit the answer e-mail) How many parts will your story have? What information would you include in introduction? etс. Then it will be checked together using the whiteboard
I will write the word Bad on the whiteboard and then ask about the synonyms. Several categories 1. Food 2. Hotel 3. Local people 4. Weather 5. Service Ss will work in groups to brainstorm min 3 negative adjectives for each category.
Ss will get worksheets with questions about a disastrous holiday. They will be asked to speak to a partner to get the information that they will use in their story. it can be real or imaginary.
Using the info from the previous activity ss will write a story about the disastrous holiday. They will be asked to follow the layout and use min 5 adj from the target language. at the end they will swap their stories to find the most colourful one.
The ss will be asked to discuss -where the information can be usefull (email to a friend, review on the travel agency, airline company, hotel etc) -which new adjectives they can use when describing a holiday food and so on -what is a layout of such a story + some common mistakes
