Main Aims

To provide clarification and practice of words that express feelings that ends in -ed and -ing. in the context of Choosing a book to read.

Subsidiary Aims

To provide inference reading practice using a text about book choice in the context of Choosing a book to read.
To provide fluency speaking practice in a Conversation in the context of choo

Procedure (30-40 minutes)

Warmer/lead-in (3-5 minutes) • To set context ,generate interest and engage the Ss

Show the photo of Khalil Comedy. Ask Ss the following questions : Who is this person? Did you see any show of him? Was this show boring or interesting? How you feel when you saw his show? Is he a boring or an interesting person?

Exposure and highlight (3-5 minutes) • To provide a context for the TI and draw As attention to the Tl

Write the two words (ends in - ed and -ing) that I elicited from Ss on the board. Ask Ss CCQs. What's the kind of these words? What do you notice about them? Which one of them is used to describe how people feel? Which one is used to describe the thing or the person that causes the feeling?

Vocabulary focus (9-12 minutes) • To learn the vocabulary in the context of choosing a book to read.

Give Ss hand outs . Ss match words with their definitions. Ss check answers in pairs. Give Ss fb. Drill words.

Controlled practice (10-12 minutes) • To concept check and prepare Ss for meaningful practice

Ex.1 Chest the hand out and tell Ss that the people in the picture were asked the question:How do you choose a book? Ss read and underline the correct adjective. Demonstrate to Ss. Ss check answers in pairs. Ss listen and check their answers. Ex.2 Ss add the adjectivesin Ex.1 to the table. Ss check answers in pairs. Give Ss fb.

Freer practice (5-6 minutes) • To provide fluency speaking of the Tl about adjectives ends in ing and - ed in the context of choosing a book to read.

Each S tell his partner how he is feeling today and why. Ss choose other three adjectives and say what makes him or her feel like that Ss say their answers orally.
