To provide detailed listening practice using a text about money survey in the context of money matters
Procedure (37-54 minutes)
T will star by asking Ss questions related to money: - Who likes money? - Who's rich? - Where do you spend most of your money? T then gives HO1 which is a survey about money and ask Ss to work individually first for 2 minutes, then check in their groups for 1 minute.
T gives Ss HO2 which is a true/false taks, Ss will listen to audio 35 for details. T instruct Ss to work individually and try to see if the sentences are false or true T plays audio 35 Ss will check their answers in pairs. Ss will find the answer key by looking at the back of the HO and check in their groups.
T give Ss HO3, which is a guided discovery task for the TL T instruct Ss to answer the questions in their groups in 4 minutes T monitors and helps if needed Ss will then check their answers with other groups T put answer key on walls, Ss check their answers T clarifies any issues with the M & F T put marker sentences on WB and Drills
T gives HO4, Which is a controlled practice task where Ss need to make questions into reported questions and vice versa. - T instruct Ss work in pairs and solve part A of the task in 2 minutes - T instruct Ss to change partner (sit with someone else) then unfold the paper and start part B of the task, also in 2 minutes - T put answer key on wall and ask Ss to check their answers.
T - Instruct Ss to be in groups of 3 As Bs and Cs. A asks C a question which B will then report the question to C, then they change turns and so on - T demonstrate the instructions and asks ICQs - S who gets at least 2 anwers to each question will be the winner - T gives Ss a time limit (2 minutes) then they change group, and then they change again for few times - T asks Ss for some of the answers and end the losson
