By the end of the lesson students will be able to develop their skills in reading/listening for specific information and note taking using a text about strangers on a train.

Students will also be able to discover irregular verbs.
Procedure (50 minutes)
- Show the students yellow jigsaw pieces and ask what they think these are. - Give each student one piece and ask them to do the puzzle together on the teacher's table.
- Elicit/teach words connected with travelling by train. (platform /ˈplæt fɔrm/ , seat/sit/, station/ˈsteɪ ʃən/, ticket/ˈtɪk ɪt/) - Write them on the board and drill pronunciation.
Ask students to order the jumbled sentences in groups. Ask students to listen/read the text and answer the questions..
-Ask students to share their opinions about this question: Why do you think Olivia didn't come to the concert? -Play the rest of the text and let them check their predictions.
-Check that Sts understand the meaning of the verbs: buy,say, send, tell, leave, see, sit, write -Ask Sts to find the past simple of these highlighted verbs in the story, -Ask them to listen and check, -Ask Sts say the past simple of the verb they hear.
-Divide the students into two, -Ask them to make double line in front of the board, -Ask them to write the past form of the verbs as soon as they hear the infinitive verbs.
