Procedure (41-55 minutes)
T hangs out a picture of a well known Turkish band on the WB. Ss will brainstorm who they are, what they do and where they live. Ss will see another band, Metro 5, stuck on the WB and they will try to guess who they are.
T elicits ideas about the band on the board (what they do, where they are now and where they are from) Introduce and elicit the lexical items: band, on tour, interview, interviewer, studio, famous. INTERVIWER: Acun Ilıcalı INTERVIEW: job interview interview with a famous person/band BAND: a small group of musicians, play popular music STUDIO: a place where you record cd/casette/audiovisual FAMOUS: well-known, everybody knows - Tarkan ON TOUR: Hadise is on tour. She sings in different places. Ss listen to an interview with Metro 5 and try to find out correct answers for the questions. Hand out the gist questions. Give them time to check the questions before listening.
T plays the recording (track 3.10 ). Ss listen to the interview. Ss check their answers with their pairs. Model them and ask a few students about their guesses.
Ss will listen to the interview again. Ss will check their answers with pairs. WCF Change the students place and then hand out them cut up sentences. Play track 3.9. Ss will try to correct the sentences in pairs. WC
