Description

In this lesson , students learn about the personality attribute through the Chinese Zodiac based on a reading text about horoscope sign. The lesson starts with a discussion about sign of the Chinese Zodiac of this new year. And then they will learn attributes with some handout.

Subsidiary Aims

  • To provide practice of new vocabulary and prounce it in a correct way. after all report , students can think about diffrent astrological signs.

Procedure

Warmer/Lead-in (0-0 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

i start the lesson with a discussion and i want them to express their opinions about the horoscope sign. with these questions : - what is the animal sign of this next year? - what is your zodiac sign? - which year did you born?

Exposure (0-0 minutes) • To provide context for the target language through a text or situation

make them in groups... give instruction: I'll give them handout of their own sign ( read the texts with your friend and look up the new words in dictionary ) make them in groups: in pairs. checking : ask them are you going to do it alone?

Clarification (0-0 minutes) • To clarify the meaning, form and pronunciation of the target language

each students read their handout loudly and if they have a problem in pronunciation i will fix it . ( tell the new words to others)

Controlled Practice (0-0 minutes) • To concept check and prepare students for more meaningful practice

now again in pairs......express the opinions... -which are these traits do you think are true about you ? give a reason of each ( I am ...... ) -which of them are false about you?give a reason for each ( i am not .... ) /// i will give them some fixed expression for speaking and giving their opinions/////

Free Practice (0-0 minutes) • To provide students with free practice of the target language

after all report, students can think about these questions: - do these signs tell you who you are? - do you believe in these signs? - is that your personality?
