Main Aims
-
To provide clarification, review and practice of 'whatever', 'wherever' and 'whenever' in the context of Priceless things.
Subsidiary Aims
-
To provide gist, specific information and deduction listening practice using a text about public art projects in the context of priceless things.
Procedure (37-50 minutes)
1- To show the pictures of some valuable and priceless things (1 minute) 2- To elicit (1 minute) 3- To make clear the context along with FB (1 minute)
1- show SS the meaning of few important words using OHP that will be used in the audio clip (2 minutes) 2- coral drilling of the vocabulary(1 minute)
1- tell the SS to read the questions (Ex.2) on the board before the audio clip and to discuss the answers after doing ex- 3 (2 minutes) 2- give out HOs (Ex.3) (30 seconds) 3- play audio clip-1 for scanning and skimming (5:30 minutes) 4- have the SS do gap fills along with in-pair consultation after listening to the audio clip (2 minutes) 5-Write on board for answer checking (ex-3)(2minutes) 6- have students answer the questions in PW (ex-2) by referring again to the questions on the board(OHP) -give them few minutest to discuss in pairs(3 minutes) - check answers by CCQs CCQs- 1. Women was invited in the interview for ........................ an expert opinion/ to tell the importance of art in public spaces (gap-fill) 2. Does she take care of the patients in the hospital? 3. She manages and takes care of........................ museum artifacts and other aesthetic (designing) settings.(gap fill) 4. Is she against public art projects?
1- have SS do ex-4 by dividing them in pairs(one for and the other against the ideas mentioned in the questions) using GREEN and RED paper cuttings(2 minutes) 2- give them few minutes to discuss the questions in pairs mentioned on the board(OHP)(2 minutes) 3- check their views on the topic (T-S), (2 speaking for and 2 speaking against)(2 minutes)
1- Show the target language on the board(OHP)(1 minute) 2- Tell students to do ex-1 after giving them HOs(2 minutes) 3- Have SS check answers by listening to an audio clip.(1:30 minutes) 4- write answers on board taking FB(1 minute)
1- Give instruction regarding ex-3 and distribute the HOs(1 minute) 2- Have SS do ex-3(3 minutes) 3- Check the answers on the board-OHP(2 minutes) 4-Have SS choose their favorite quote and make them discuss in pairs the questions like- Why is it their favorite quote? (3 minutes) 5- Check few of them and conclude the class.(1 minute)
