To introduce ss to Narrative tenses and have them practice within the context of performance art.
Subsidiary Aims

To practice speaking for fluency in the context of performance art.
Procedure (33-48 minutes)
-Have projection ready -Remind the previous lesson's context and tell the ss this lesson will be about its narrative -Project the narrative sentences -Pair ss and ask them to discuss and find the differences between these three sentences -Have ss share their opinions, praise the ones who are correct
-Explain the differences between the three sentences -Use timeline to clarify -Ask CCQs: Are they preparing their tools now? Is the action finished? Is this the past, present or future? Which action happened first? How do we know? -Give the form -Model and chorally drill the pronunciation -Do the extra exercise with the class to make sure the tenses are understood
-Tell the ss to read the article and choose the best title -ICQ: Are you going to do the exercise or just choose a title? -Give them HO -Have them pair check their answers -Give the answer -Tell the ss to choose the best verb forms to complete the text in exercise 1 -Ask ss to compare their answers in pairs -By nominating them, have the ss circle the correct verb forms on the WB and correct them if necessary -Tell the ss to put the verbs in the brackets into the past simple, past continuous or past perfect. -Give them HO -Ask ss to compare their answers in pairs -Have ss nominate each other to fill in the blanks. Correct them if necessary
-Put ss into A and B groups -Tell them to read the list and discuss which order to put the events so as to create an interesting life story for the woman in the photo. -Give them HO -Tell the ss join up with a partner from the other group and compare their stories. In pairs they combine their stories to make one -Have CD record ready -Ask them to compare their version with the listening -After L, ss try and retell the real story of Frida Kahlo in pairs -At the end ask ss if they know anything more about Frida Kahlo
