The teacher shows two pictures of two different places to students and asks them to draw a poster demonstrating one interesting sport that can be done in each place in their groups. The following ICQ would be asked: ARE YOU GOING TO DRAW ONE INTERESTING SPORT FOR EACH PLACE? After having done that, learners have to justify their reasons why they have opted for those sports ,and the teacher with the assistance of the students choose one poster as the best one. Then, the teacher pre-teaches two required words. EXPERIENCE (N), DECLARE the teacher checks their understanding by asking: WHEN YOU DECLARE SOMETHING, DO ALL PEOPLE IN A COUNTRY KNOW ABOUT IT? IF YOU HAVE THE EXPERIENCE OF SOMETHING, HAVE YOU DONE THAT BEFORE?
The students read the text for the first time to to check their made guesses about which sport is done on the most dangerous road in the world in a regular basis. The students check their answers in pairs. The teacher collects feedback: RIDING A BIKE IS DONE THERE AS AN INTERESTING SPORT. Then, the students read the text for the second time to answer some more detailed questions. They check their answers in pairs. The teacher collects feedback: 1. IT IS IN BOLIVIA, IN THE ANDES. 2. BECAUSE THERE ARE A LOT OF ACCIDENTS THERE. 3. IT IS TEN FEET WIDE. 4. BECAUSE IT IS THE MOST EXCITING RIDE OF THEIR LIVES. 5. THE MOST DANGEROUS TIME OF YEAR IS DURING THE RAINY SEASON, FROM DECEMBER TO MARCH. 6. BECAUSE IF YOU ARE A TOURIST, YOU JUST HAVE TO GOT THERE. 7. BECAUSE SHE WAS SCARED OF FALLING OVER AND DYING. SHE HAD NO EXPERIENCE WITH MOUNTAIN BIKING.
The students are shown pictures of a jungle, a sandy beach, a desert, and a mountain. Then, they have to decide which one they have an insatiable thirst for riding a bike in without telling their friends. After that, each student should guess which place his friends have chosen according to their characteristics ,and his friends should say whether his deduction is true about them or not. The teacher checks their understanding of the given instruction: ARE YOU GOING TO TALK ABOUT WHICH PLACE YOU LIKE? ARE YOUR FRIENDS GOING TO GUESS WHICH ONE YOU LIKE?
