Procedure (93-120 minutes)
ask Ss about what is the happiest thing happned last weekend what were they doing during that weekend Did they enjoy their time
students will read the passage at page 12 just one time I will give students some incidents related to the passage at page 12 to rearrange them I will ask students to tell me the incidents in order I will write them down in order on the board
ask students if these sentences happened in the past or the present ask Ss two questions which sentence talks about an action in a progress in a certain time in the past? which sentences talk about an action started and finished without taking time? Draw a couple of time lines, one under each type of the sentences. elicit the shape of timeline of the sentences from the students. Ask CCQs to check the meaning elicit the form of both tenses on the board Model and drill pronunciation orally and individually
tell the students to read the sentences in page 15 and complete the sentences with the past simple and past continuous Ss work individually to answer the exercise then they peer-check the answer together check with the whole class to see of there are any problems
chest a handout about some sentences using while and when ask Ss to write three sentences using( while)( when) while I......................................, my father......................... . when we...................................,our teacher...................... . while my mother........................,I was........................... . Ss peer-check and compare answers check answers with the whole class
Ss write four sentences about their personal life experience using past simple and past continuous. Monitor and check sentences with a little guidance
