addict and chocoholic I'll use the picture of the kid I used in the lead-in stage to elicit these two words from them. by asking some questions ? does this kid like chocolate ? what do we call a person who's crazy about chocolate ? if they don't know, tell them we call who's crazy about alcohol alcoholic so who's crazy about chocolate is chocoholic. Addict is easy to elicit from chocoholic or alcoholic.
use exercise no 2 from the book and let the students answer it.
Ss will listen to audio 2.01 to correct the sentences they guessed about before the lesson.
Fill-in-gaps activity. i will ask the Ss some ICQ to make sure they understand the activity like : do you work alone or with partner ? do you write or speak ? then handout the materials, they should answer individually then they check answers in pairs then I'll provide key answers. it's a controlled-practice.
I will handout some questions to the students and ask them to speak about them in pairs. I'll make sure they understand the instructions by asking some ICQs : do you work alone or in pairs ? do we speak or write ? how much time do you have ?
