For Ss, to practice and review use of Simple past and continuous in the topic related to travel. For Ss, to practice listening for specific information in the topic related to travel.
Subsidiary Aims

For Ss, to practice speaking fluently and accurately using the past simple and continuous in the topic -Travel.
Procedure (68-79 minutes)
Ss are to make fourteen types of transport from the word snake. This is followed by a word web, where in they place the of different types of transport into groups in a word web. Lastly a game : 'Who am I?' is played. Ss are given clues and are asked to guess the type of transport.
Ss works in pairs. Each pair is given a different set of word prompts - A and B. Student A is to say a sentence with the word prompts and student B is to answer student A with the given word prompts. They are encouraged to use as many word prompts as they can in five minutes.
Pre - writing task: Ss are asked to discuss one of their worst journeys or travel experiences. Ss are given a text. They are to read the text and correct the verbs if they are incorrect. Once the task is completed, Ss check their work with each other and whole class feed back is done.
Task 1: Ss listen to a recording based on travel experiences. They are given a HO and are to answer true or false. Task 2: Ss are given the text that they listened to. Ss are instructed to fill in the blanks with the correct form of the verb given in the word cloud above the text. PC and WCFB are done.
Task 1: Ss are given pictures. They are instructed to arrange them in order and weave a story based on the pictures in groups. They are encouraged to use past simple and continuous tenses. Ss share their stories with the class. Task 2: Ss work in pairs. Ss are given a text based on the story. They are to fill in the gaps with verbs in the past or continuous tenses. Ss discuss answers among themselves. The answers are display on the IWB during WCFB.
