By the end of the lesson ss will have a better understanding of the use of prefixes and suffixes to form adjectives and will have a better understanding of being sympathetic.

Procedure (42-52 minutes)
T writes Inspiation.com on the board and asks ss what they think this is. T elicits answers from ss and asks if ss think such websites are useful. SS read text headed inspirations from page 22 of Module 2 life's ups and downs and T elicits answer as to what is blanked out word
make sure ss understand what suffixes and prefixes are. Guide students in reading the explanation in WB. T elicits answers from ss. Draw ss attention to other examples of suffixes and prefixes and elicit examples from ss.
ask ss to find powerful and valuable in text and underline the suffixes in the words. Ask ss to read the explanation in section 1a p22 WB and to underline suffixes of other adjectives. T tell ss not all adjectives have suffixes. Check answers as WC.
Ask ss to find words unhappy and discouraged in WB text and read the WB explanation.and find another prefix in the text. Check answers WC. Ask ss to PW to think of at least 3 other prefixes. Check answers WC.
