To provide gist listening practice using a song in the context of friendship.

To provide product writing practice of answers to the questions in the context of friendship.

To provide fluency speaking practice in a correct stress and pronunciation of the song in the context of friendship.

To provide scan reading practice in the context of a song desribing friendship.
Procedure (45 minutes)
- Teacher says; " What comes to your mind when you hear the word ' friend '?" -Teacher says; " What do you look for in a best friend?"
Teacher introduces a picture of the four seasons of the year. - Teacher introduces some key words in cards and stick them on W.B, down, troubled, north wind, call out. -Teacher elicits their meaning through simple questions.
- Teacher tells Ss they will hear a song about friendship written by an American singer called Carole king. - Teacher plays the song once.Ss listen without looking at the words. - Teacher asks the Ss to read the sentences describing the song and tick the correct answers:- - The song is a (slow/fast) song. - It's ( very happy /slightly sad). - It ( tells a story/ has a message). - Teacher gets feedback.
- Teacher plays the song again. - Ss read the song and answer the questions. - Teacher asks the Ss to find expressions which show what the friend will do. - Teacher says; " The title of the song is mentioned twice.what do you think it is?"
- Teacher explains that the Ss will hear these words. - Teacher plays the audio and stopping after each word. -Teacher drills. - Teacher gives the Ss two minutes to practice saying these words; right /raɪt/ night/naɪt/ fall /fɔl/ all /ɔl/ call/ kɔl / cloud/klaʊd/ loud/ laʊd/ - Teacher gives the Ss two minutes to think of other words with the same sound.
- Teacher tells the Ss; "Write 5 sentences about friendship."
