T asks Ss what they do in summers and elicits the answer vacation. Then T asks where they go for vacation. Depending on their asnwers T asks where they stay when they go to that city and elicits the answer hotel. T tells Ss they're going to stay in a seaside hotel and asks them to discuss in pairs and agree on the five most important things that the hotel must have.
T tells Ss to work alone and match the words and photos in 3 minutes. ICQs; "How much time do you have to complete it" "Are you going to work alone or in pairs?" Then, T gives Ss the HO1. After that, Ss nominate each other to give and discuss the answers for FB. T gives the HO1 AK.
T determines the areas the Ss have problems with to clarify the meaning. T writes three marker sentences; "We need to book a room before we go to a hotel." "A 5 star hotel has a sauna facility." "The thing you rest your head on when going to sleep is a pillow." And clarfies the form of "to book" and "facilty". Then T drills the pronunciation of some vocabulary such as "facility, pillow, reception etc" and elicits the meaning of "twin room" and "family room". After that, T asks CCQs: "Do we book a single room or twin room for two friends?" "Do we book a twin room or family room for a family?"
T divides the class into 3 groups of 5 and tells that Ss have 3 minutes to complete HO2 with their group. ICQs; "How much time do you have to complete it" "Are you going to work alone or in pairs?" T hands the papers. Later, Ss check other tables, T hands the HO2 AK and a WCFB.
T writes the questions below on the board; A family with two kids staying at a hotel for two weeks for their summer holiday. A business person is going to stay for three nights at a hotel for a conference. A couple staying one night at a hotel. They are going to arrive late and leave early the next day. T asks Ss to discuss in groups the four most important facilities for each situation. Then a WCFB.
T tells Ss to walk around the room and tell each other the best hotel experience they have ever had and decide who had the best experience in the class. After that, a quick FB.
