To provide gist and specific information listening practice using a text about Verbs & activities in the context of Jack likes sports . Layla loves shopping
Procedure (45-63 minutes)
Holding flash cards about feelings to elicit vocabulary from students before playing the record .
Look at EX 1 you have 1 minute to answer it. Give students table chart with the same questions they answered this time asking their friends mingling and speaking the target language.
Give students the handout, have them look at the activities . Elicit activities from them then drill it . Give them Ex 2 to read then and underline or highlight what does Layla like and what doesn't like ? And also for Jack .
Have students look at exercise 2 ,Then work in pairs discuss what does everyone like and dislike .
Look at exercise 3 and guess who likes or dislike each one of these activities if he is Jack , put J . If she is Layla, put L .
Now listen to the record and check your answer. Okay check your answer together.
Oka , Are you similar to Jack of Layla ? Now work in pairs, ask your partner : What do you like or hate ? Etc Then i ask them about it
