Main Aims

To provide gist reading practice using a text about differences between man and women in shopping

Subsidiary Aims

To provide specific information listening practice using a text about man and woman in buying ( cars , shoes ) and watching football match

Procedure (14-20 minutes)

Highlighting (2-4 minutes) • To draw students' attention to the target language

focus Ss attention on the headline and the photos

Clarification (3-5 minutes) • To clarify the meaning, form and pronunciation of the target language

clarify the negative forms in present simple tense ( do not & does not) and affirmative one . he likes football ..... he does not like football . they study hard ..... they do not study hard

Controlled Practice (4-5 minutes) • To concept check and prepare students for more meaningful practice

ask Ss to complete what the people say with the words in the box in ex 1. give them a few minutes to do this . play the recording for them to check answers ask how many pairs of shoes male and female students in the class have .

Semi-Controlled Practice (5-6 minutes) • To concept check further and prepare students for free practice

underline the negative and affirmative forms in their point of view
