Description
In this lesson,students will be introduced to and practice writing and speaking associated with focusing on the using of contractions.Then they are going to do an exercise and listen to a recording to check their answers. After explaining that a profile is a list of personal details about some one, Ss have to work in pairs and match the information of the profile with the questions of the previous exercise.

Main Aims

To provide fluency and accuracy to write and speak about profiles.
Subsidiary Aims

To write in the correct order and use contractions where possible.

To provide fluency and accuracy speaking practice in a conversation in the context of profiles.
Procedure (28-35 minutes)
Warmer/Lead-in (3-5 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students
Show Ss some profiles. Ask them to ask about the personal details of these profiles.
Exposure (5-6 minutes) • To provide a model of production expected in coming tasks through reading/listening
Ask Ss to write their questions correctly with contractions where possible.
Useful Language (5-6 minutes) • To highlight and clarify useful language for coming productive tasks
Ask them to listen carefully to a recording to check the correct answers
Productive Task(s) (10-12 minutes) • To provide an opportunity to practice target productive skills
Explain the meaning of Timeline and profile. Go through the examples. Ss have to match the information on the profile with the questions in the previous exercise. Ask them to work in pairs. check answers with the class.
Feedback and Error Correction (5-6 minutes) • To provide feedback on students' production and use of language
Take notes of any errors which may need particular attention later and also any examples of good language use.
