T writes on the WB ''Daily Activities/ Habits" and T instructs sts to brainstorm about their daily activities. Activities could be any and related to their personal lives. The quick lead-in will be done by the WC and T also ask individual sts that didn't participate. Such activities that sts might point out might be cooking, watching, playing with kids, running and so forth. T focuses on difficult lexical structures and corrects them before the main TL is introduced. T leads in with some interrogative verbs about some other activities sts are likely to engage in their daily lives or what they learnt in the previous lesson such as; "Do you enjoy turkish food" "Do you practice English" "do you order food always or do you like cooking".
T presents the first HO of the day to sts containing some images of different people at a restaurant having a conversation ( from English Unlimited Book). T identifies the pictures as A,B,C and D. T instructs sts to look at the pictures and ask where the people are (cafe or restaurant). T tells sts that the bubbles are answers to some questions. T Divides sts into pairs and let them discuss what they think those questions are. Each pair group is suppose to write a quick question and share it with his/her partner. Subsequently, T prepares the audio file and pausing after each conversation. This serves as an answer key to the question earlier. Play the audio file again and ask sts what the questions are. WRITE IT DOWN ON THE BOARD. 1. Do you watch football? 2. Do you speak Spanish? 3. Do you live near here? 4. Do you have children?
T shows how we add "do you" to make questions. T tells stts that in English, do/does with the base form of the verb are used to make Yes/No questions for present simple tenses. Do you -------> I/You + Verb Does --------> she/he/it + Verb Do----------> we/they.you + Verb e.g They work hard------> do they work hard? He works hard------> does he work hard? I work hard-------> do you work hard? More examples first from the T, then the sts Do you play football? Do you drink coffee Do you live in KAdikoy T drills students to improve their pronunciation and practice saying the sentences T uses some body gestures to explain how to pronounce "do you" T refers back to the picture and instructs Sts to practice saying the questions and answers. Furthermore, T shows sts how to answer the questions with simple answers such as Yes, I do and No. I dont
T provides HO (appendix 1) which contains some examples of the TL. Before giving the HO, T demonstrate about the task and gives instructions to sts. Sts will be divided into group of 4 and instructs them to create questions to the answers on the HO. T hnads out a different task (appendix 2). T requires sts to make and add the verb to create questions. like ....TV? .....in a bank? ......tea? .....Italian? The context of the actions will be provided and also the answer key.
T plays the audio file and sts are suppose to identify the correct person on the text. HO will be provided to each group(A,B,C).Sts will work in groups of four and T demonstrates the game and get sts to guess the person by asking questions. a: Do you live in London (no) b: Do you like chineses food? (yes) c. Do you drink coffee? (yes) Who are you? ........... (Marie)
