Description

Through this lesson , the students are taught about social topic which they sure are interested in , and face all the time . this lesson is about "friendship" as one of social topics . This aim will be achieved by reading text which starts with quick questions having it's answers by looking at the photos then the student read the whole essay which is divided into small ones , every one start with a question . After finishing the reading , student will be able to answer the questions at the end . Finally ,we can say that the lesson shows the student , some kind of friendship and how they can be good ones although of their differences , also it is nice to save their friendship longtime whatever they parted .

Main Aims

  • To provide deduction and detailed reading practice for students using a text about Making a social relationship. in the context of friends which

Subsidiary Aims

  • Let students learn new social expressions during reading and understanding the passage .
  • To provide deduction topic and let students discuss about it and thinking with each other about friendship as a part of our life and how this relationship can be changed or developed by the time between them and their friends .

Procedure

Warmer/Lead-in (5-7 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

Ask the students a question " has anyone got a friend from a different govern-orate or different country ? then , ask anyone who says "yes" , if he lived with him before . then , let every two students speak about one's relationship and it's details , like where had you met him first time ? , after when from your first meeting you became friends ? which nice memory with him makes you happy when you remember ? write 3 pieces of information about the relation in 2 minutes. then the other one will speak about his partner's story of friendship in the group .

Pre-Reading/Listening (5-7 minutes) • To prepare students for the text and make it accessible

Let students look at the paper in their hands which contain three pictures and some questions ,then they would look at pictures and answer the questions with true or false (it takes 3 minutes or less) . Then read it my own , asking them about their answers and correct them the wrong one .

While-Reading/Listening #1 (9-12 minutes) • To provide students with less challenging gist and specific information readinBg/listening tasks

Ask students to divide into groups , each group consists of 3 ones or 2 as minimum they will read with each other the main passages of the lesson and discuss about the difficult words or expressions and get main 3 ideas, they write the ideas in a paper, then each group choose one from another group to read it's paper . in the end , i will ask them about difficult expressions or words and tell them the meaning which they don't know .

While-Reading/Listening #2 (3-4 minutes) • To provide students with more challenging detailed, deduction and inference reading/listening tasks

From student's reading to the past passage , they can answer the questions which are a choosing in between 2 choices (Tina or Will) , also they will work in a group , when they finish , I as a teacher will discuss the answers with them, that takes 4 minutes as maximum .

Post-Reading/Listening (5-7 minutes) • To provide with an opportunity to respond to the text and expand on what they've learned

Ask the students some questions and let them to answer it in a group 1) What is the good friendship from your own opinion ? 2) Can your best friend is the less one you met him ? 3) What makes friendship lasting ? when they finish ,every group will read it's answers and the other groups will give its opinion in that group's answers with " I agree , I don't agree " and give a comment if they want .
