To provide fluency and accuracy speaking practice in a simple conversation in the context of buying things
Procedure (23-39 minutes)
T provides a HO for the Ss which is about their previous knowledge. Ss work in 2 groups. Group 1 has to find the correct answers for 6 questions or sentences . There is one wrong word in each question or sentence and group 2 has to find the correct the answers for 6 other questions or sentences . There is one wrong word in each question or sentence . T takes the time. the group with the most correct answers is the winner. In order for a better practice, groups change their HOs. Then groups change their role and do the game. ICQ T does the peer check if there are some problems with the answers.
T provides a question on the WB for the Ss (what does the customer buy?) ICQ Ss listen to the audio carefully and write the answers in pairs. T does the peer check
Ss listen to the audio again and try to read and fill in the blanks in the conversation in pairs. T does the peer check.
T provides a HO for the Ss. It's a multiple choice HO. T does ICQ Ss try to find the correct answer in pairs. T does the peer check
T provides a HO for the Ss. T does ICQ Ss unscramble the sentences in the HO in groups. T does the peer check.
T changes the partners and provides some realias (SS' stuff with tag prices on) for the Ss to have a conversation about buying in a shop in pairs. T does the ICQ and checks to help the Ss when they have problems pronouncing or understanding the grammar.
