Procedure (41-51 minutes)
_students look at a picture , asks these questions and give students time to think alone first then work in pairs to ask and answer these questions with their partners 1. What sport can you see in the photograph ? 2.Do you have a favourite sport ? 3.Do you like watching sport ? _teacher elicit information from students about their partners .
_before listening students will watch a video about free diving without sound to answer these questions :(1). To write words for things you see in the table (people, places , things , times of the day ) _check in pairs .compare your tables (T monitors to make sure that they are following the instructions) _look at page 198 how many words do you have ? circle the words that are the same. (2.). What is free diving ? circle the correct answer . the students check their answers in pairs then feedback to the class.
_teacher ask students to read the questions then watch the video again with sound to answer these questions . 1.How many people live in Sicily ? 2.Fishing in Sicily is a 3.Why does Michale Ralo go free diving everyday ? 4. Why are scuba divers at the free diving competition ? 5.How deep is Michaele Ralo s dive?......work individually circle the correct answers from the given answers. _check in pairs _Feedback (teacher elicit answers from students).
_students look at Exercise 5 again . work individually use the words in bold to complete the sentences. _check in pairs the teacher elicit answers from the class. _answers : 1 deep , 2 fans ,3 million , 4 professional, 5 competition, 6 traditional , 7 ancient , 8 important .
_students work individually making a list about other dangerous sports . _ work with a partner . ask and answer the questions about the dangerous sports in your list . 1. which sports are more dangerous than the others? 2. would you like to do a dangerous sport? if yes, which one? _ teacher ask students about their partners ( reporting )
