To provide clarification, review and practice of past perfect and narrative tenses in the context of telling stories.

To provide gist and detailed reading practice using a text about A Bear and two travellers in the context of story telling
Procedure (37-49 minutes)
Ss will be shown pictures on the board of various characters from predominately English Literature (one Turkish). Ss what be asked if they know the characters and the authors of the books the characters are from. Harry Potter - JK Rowling Alice in Wonderland - Lewis Carrol Sherlock Holmes - Sir Arther Conan Doyle My name is Red - Orhan Pamuk.
SS will be provided with context by looking at the picture of the bear and asking the Ss what they can see, followed by reading the text and answering the question. What was the moral of the story? Ss will decided the answer in pairs.
Ss will be given a gap fill on a HO based on the text the Ss have just read. Ss will work in pairs to complete the task. After wards they will be given the answer key and WC feedback. Make a point of which tenses the gap fill is made up of in feedback.
Ss will be given a HO where they have to insert the correct sentence into the appropriate part of the text they have just text been reading. Ss will work in pairs and then be given the answer key. Followed by WC feedback, and MFP.
Ss will be given a speaking task. In pairs they will ask and answer questions based on the text making sure they use the past perfect tense. Provide answer key and WC feedback. Delayed error correction if required.
Ss will tell stories to each thereabout their own experiences based on questions provided on a HO. The questions will relate to the context of the text about The Bear and the Travellers. Give feedback after wards on Ss ideas and any necessary delayed error correction.
