Procedure

Warmer/Lead-in (3-5 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

will start the lesson by writing the quote at the top of p.48 on the board or showing it by the projector with the name of Michael Jordan. then i will ask the students to think about the meaning of this quote in groups or pairs, and if they agree with it.

Exposure (8-10 minutes) • To provide context for the target language through a text or situation

-will gave the students HOs for page 48, ask them to read the tweet thread and tick the ones that annoy them. -focus on the useful language box and go through it with the class, write the three phrases on the WB and model them with one of the sentences in the tweet thread. -then ask them to choose their top three and compare them with their partner using the useful Language.

Highlighting (2-4 minutes) • To draw students' attention to the target language

highlight the fact that we only use this structure to talk about things that annoy us and we would like other people to do or not to do. we don't use this structure with 'I', e.g. (I wish I would ...)

Clarification (8-10 minutes) • To clarify the meaning, form and pronunciation of the target language

I will write a model sentence on the WB -drill the meaning, ask CCQ -show the structure of the sentence: I + Wish + Subj + Would/wouldn't+ ..... - Drill the pronunciation and show the stress places

Controlled Practice (8-10 minutes) • To concept check and prepare students for more meaningful practice

--give the students HOs of grammar bank p,141. 5B. play the audio let them listen to sentence rhythm i may let them repeat the sentences to practice getting the rhythm right. -- ask them to do Exercise 'a' individually or in pairs, then check with the whole class in the feedback.

Semi-Controlled Practice (8-10 minutes) • To concept check further and prepare students for free practice

--i will ask students to write three more things that annoy them, each student write three things that he wants people to change.

Free Practice (5-8 minutes) • To provide students with free practice of the target language

ask them to discuss their tweets in groups, three students each.
