Procedure (45-45 minutes)
tell students something about your future plans. (They need to listen carefully) "I'm fed up, I don't have money, I'd like to have a job to earn much money. I'm from Iran. now I'm abroad, Turkey. I'm going to get a degree and work as an English teacher. oh I have debts of 5000 Lira, I'm looking forward to working somewhere. next month I'm going to work. My sister is a paramedic, she works in a hospital but she is always going in the city with an ambulance, she has to help people in emergency situation. she'd like to marry but she can't because she is too busy." ask them randomly to tell you their plans T: "what are you going to do in future?"
to pre-teach blocking vocabularies : fed up, debt, abroad, paramedic (Language Analysis) give Ss the pictures and questions from exercise 2 look at the pictures and read the sentences T: "what do they do?" "what are their problems?" "what do you think they want to do?" "now, look at the sentences, who said these sentences just write the names" demo it with Abby. work in pair give students HO 2, ask them "which one is 100%" "there 2 answers for this" which one is just a wish?
to check if students understood the meaning of each statement just write the sentences on the board and write the percentage in front of I'm going to. do some drilling to clarify the pronunciation with intonation and rhythm. I ask them again check the sentences on the HO2 and circle the verb after going to like to and looking forward to "what's the difference between them?"
Show them the HO3 tell "write the correct word in the blan" ICQ: "what are you going to write ?" show them three forms which are underlined on the board work individually, then check with your partners, then ask some of them to answer the questions randomly. the give them the answer key for feedback.
ask students to write their wishes and plans on a paper. ask students to stand up and walk to have conversation with others and ask what are they going to do? what would they like to do ? what are they looking forward to do (NOTE: as they haven't exposed the question form in this practice they can practice this as a fixed form and practice using TL in the freer practice) after 5 minutes ask them to stop and sit down randomly choose students and ask what they know about the other people what was interesting.
