To give students semi-controlled and free speaking practice asking and answering about past events in their lives.
Subsidiary Aims

to review and practise the past simple and past time phrases two weeks ago, when I was a child.
Procedure (25-45 minutes)
I will hand out three questions on a piece of paper and ask Ss to guess the time words that missing in each sentence in the paper. Then I will draw a time line on WB and ask them to order the time phrases on to the line in terms of which is further in the past.
I will hand out a piece of paper and ask them to draw a timeline and work in pairs to put the phrases on the line. Answer key will be provided to Ss.
I will hand out a worksheet and ask them to work in pairs to complete the sentences. Answer key to be provided to Ss.
I will divide half the class into As and the other half into Bs. I will ask Ss "when did you last.." and couple of follow up questions for demo.There will be two handouts (for As and Bs). I will pair As with Bs and get them to ask their questions to each other in turn. For FB, I will ask a student what he/she learned about the partner.
If time allows; I will hand out a piece of paper and ask them to work in pairs and get student Bs to ask questions to Student As about the last time they had special meal. For FB I will get a student to talk about his/her partner's special meal.
