Procedure (39-51 minutes)
Enter class by acting sick (Script: Act weak. "Good morning. How’s everybody? good? good to hear." Touch my forehead and said, "oh, I am not feeling well. I have taken my temperature 5 or 6 times this morning and it stays at 37.3". "Do anyone know what's the normal body temperature?" hear answers, then say " I believe it is 37, but I am 37.3, I must be very sick, I think I should go home after class and go to the doctor. What do you think? Ss answer. T stop acting and ask "do you think I am really sick or pretend to be sick? Or I am just worried too much about my health?" Ss answer. T asks "Have you ever worried too much about your health? Have you ever pretend to be sick? Why?"
* play the audio 1.35 (Script: Now let's listen to the conversation between a patient and a doctor." Go to computer and turn to Ss then give instruction. "After listening, you will answer two questions: 1. How long Mr. Blaine has been sick? 2. What does the doctor tell him?" ICQ: "So how many questions you will answer?" Ss answer "2." * PW students next to each other, ask them to compare their answers. * WC FB
