Description

In this lesson, SS will learn about some new vocabularies about holiday. First, they will be briefly asked what are their knowledge about holiday by asking some sentences.Then, they will be taught the vocabularies that are used for holiday. Finally, they will have some control practice by making some sentences with new vocabularies and fill in gap sentences which cause that new vocabularies stick in their mind.

Procedure

stage1: Lead in(warm up) (2-4 minutes) • To generate interest in the topic

T- asks some questions about holiday SS- use their background knowledge to answer questions. T- teaches some of vocabularies as a pre-teach to SS

stage2 (4-8 minutes) • Eliciting new vocabularies

T- gives some hand outs to SS T- forms two groups in the class SS- work in a group to match pictures with vocabularies T- monitors group works of SS and help them if needed T- asks answers and SS shares the answers.

stage 3 (2-4 minutes) • to provide opportunities for error correction and to practice more

T- asks SS to repeat the new vocabularies SS- repeat vocabularies loudly T-monitors Ss' pronunciation

Stage 4 (5-8 minutes) • Use of English,(using new vocabularies in sentences)

T- gives hand outs to SS to work in pairs SS- work in pairs to fill the gaps T- asks SS to come to the board and write the answers SS- share answers by writing on the board

stage 5:freer activity (2-4 minutes) • to provide an opportunity to have productive skills practice using new vocabularies

T- asks SS to use new words in sentences and share them with their partners in a group SS- work in a group and try to make sentences using new words T- monitors their answers

stage 6 • to provide an opportunity to have writing skill

T- Divide the words into two groups and give each group to every group of students T- asks SS to write some sentences with their words SS- write sentences with their partner inside the group T- asks SS to make a story with their sentences SS- make a story T- monitors their activites.
