Students are given photos of different means of transport and the words to match with the pictures. T speaks about the difference between words like: a motorbike/ a motorcycle, an aeroplane/a plane, a scooter/ a motorbike, an underground train/ a subway train, and a bıcycle/ a bike. T drills the words. T points to all the pictures and drills the word 'transport.' Writes it on the WB.
Students are given handouts with three different categories of transport: air, land, water. They look at the matched vocabulary from the previous exercise and decide where to write each word. They use the vocabulary they put on the walls in the previous activity. Ss compare their answers.
T plays a YouTube vide on OHP. Ss guess which sound belongs to which means of transportation.
Students are given a cline where the bottom represents the slowest and the top the fastest transport. Students write their own guesses in groups. They compare answers with other groups.
Teacher demonstrates the use of 'by' and 'on' by writing examples on the WB: by train, by bus, by boat, on foot, etc. Teacher gives students a questionnaire. They mingle and ask each ther questions.
a) Teacher demonstrates the dialogue by drawing stickmen on the WB (Ana and Bob). Students practice the given phrases in pairs and then produce a few of their own. b) Exercise from the Workbook
