The teacher asks the students about the people in New Year's party and their new year's resolutions. Students have to remember what was each person's new year's resolution.
This part has been done by my peer (Asqat)
The teacher gives the handout of the listening they had in the previous lesson and asks the students to highlight all of the sentences with "be going to" . The students do the task by themselves and then, they check their answers in pairs. Then, the teacher gets the feedback from the students.
The teacher gives a handout to the students which they have to circle the correct words in it for the first part and complete a table in the second part (by using the sentences in exercise 4.a). Then, students check their answers in pairs and the teacher gets feedback and makes sure that everyone has understood the meaning and form of the target language. While the students are doing the task, the teacher writes two sentences of exercise 4.a on the board (sentence 5 in two parts) and elicits the stressed part of the sentences and then, do some drillings.
The teacher gives a handout to the students which they have to complete the gaps in the sentences. Students do the task by themselves, then check their answers in pairs. The teacher gets feedback. (The teacher puts the answers on the board or gives them a handout of the answers) For the next part, the students have to work in pairs and try to remember who said those sentences in the party. The teacher gets feedback.
The teacher makes two lines (facing each other) and asks the students to tell about their plans for the weekend using the target language . (e.g I'm going to watch a film with my friends.) . Then, the teacher will change the people who are standing in front of each other till the whole class has talked with each other. Finally, they have to choose the most interesting plan in their groups. The teacher monitors the students and makes notes for delayed error correction at the end.
