To provide practice of on the reporting verbs or indirect speech as decribing what you've heard without changing the meaning in the context of holiday.
Subsidiary Aims

To provide accuracy speaking practice in a sharing ideas about food in different places they have been to.
Procedure (31-44 minutes)
-Teacher shows picture of food found in different parts of the world. -T elicit answers from Ss. -T pairs them up to talk about the best or interesting food they have seen or eaten during their holiday. -T gives them 1 minute to talk about it. After that, teacher calls some of them just to share what their partners just said.
-T preteach some words through eliciting. -With their partners, T asks the class to do exercise 1 which is grouping of words to "tell" where the hearer is the direct object and "say" where the hearer is not the direct object. They will be given 2 minutes to do this. -T provides an answer key for the groups to check their answers. -T gives the pair their next task which is matching direct speech with report/ indirect speech. -The class will do it in 2 minutes again.
-T asks the group to show their answers on the board by matching the sentences. T calls the early finishers to do this. -T provides the class with individual activity controlled practice 1, to be accomplished in 2 minutes. Then calls randomly students to write their answers on the board. -T uses the model sentence for the clarification of form. whereas; 1. tell where the hearer is the direct object subject + verb (past simple) + pronoun + to/ that clause 2. say where the hearer is not the direct object subject + verb (past simple) + to/ that clause 3. rule number 2 but including the hearer subject + verb (past simple) + to direct object + to/ that clause
-T provides the class with exercise 3. First, the Ss needs to work individually then check in pairs. -Early finishers can write their answers on the board. -T makes a quick feedback and clarification.
-T groups the class into two: speaker and listener. -Speakers line up facing the class while listeners go get to pair with them. -Speakers will speak while listeners will just listen and write at least one sentence from the story of the speaker. They will be given just 30 seconds to do this. When the speakers saw the read paper, they need to stop. -Now, they exchange places and do the same procedure. -The pair will talk about the follow: 1. recommend a good place to eat or a restaurant 2.convince or invite them to go there -After this, Ss go back to their seats and share to the class what they've written.
