Description

in this lesson SS are going to learn body parts and some expressions for describing accidents. SS will work on the difference between simple past and past continuous and reflexive pronouns. finally SS will have some controlled practice and some speaking task.

Procedure

Warmer/Lead-in (3-5 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

T will go to the class with a bandage. SS will talk about the accidents that happened to the teacher last day.

Highlighting (2-4 minutes) • To draw students' attention to the target language

elicit different parts of the body and body expressions.

Clarification (8-10 minutes) • To clarify the meaning, form and pronunciation of the target language

after eliciting the vocabulary, expressions and clarifying the meaning through body parts and pictures . teacher will ask SS to repeat and write them on the board. also teacher will write some pronunciation features of some words. example: wrist, thumb, knee, finger, nose.

Controlled Practice (8-10 minutes) • To concept check and prepare students for more meaningful practice

ask SS about their accidents that happened to them in the past. first write them on the book and then talk in groups. after eliciting answers and feedback review the grammar simple past and past continuous. and the difference between them. then SS will listen to an audio about George and see what happened to him. CCQs: draw the timeline and two sentence with simple past and continuous . elicit which action is longer? which one is finished? are they finished now?

Semi-Controlled Practice (8-10 minutes) • To concept check further and prepare students for free practice

SS talk about their family and the accidents that happened for them. when? where? what happened? what did they do next?

Free Practice (8-10 minutes) • To provide students with free practice of the target language

SS will talk about the questions on the projector or cards. What is the most dangerous thing in your home? How can your home be made less dangerous? What is the most dangerous thing in your home for a child? How can it be made less dangerous? What is the most dangerous thing in your home for an elderly person? How can it be made less dangerous?
