Procedure (32-45 minutes)
Teacher shows the picture of three people talking by the table and asks 'Who are they? then she asks again 'What are they talking about'?' students elicit some answers
Students read the context and find the answers for the questions in exercise 2 individually . Then they do a peer check and WCFB at the end.
Teacher shows the ho for exercise 3-a and tells them to look at 5 extracts from the conversation.Students match the extracts with the two caategories 1:is a realistic and possible and 2:is unrealistic or impossible (they do it in pairs) After they finish WCFB
Teacher will do exercise 3-b real and unreal conditional forms 'If + present simple + will/ won't + infinitive and If + Past simple, would/ wouldn't + infinitive) on the board and elicit the answers from students. Students will work on exercise 3-c and match the suggestion and the negative consequence with the sentences d or e.
The teacher will tell the students to put the words in order to begin conditional sentences on page 77 for exercise 1-a. Students do this activity as pairs. then the WCFB. In the next part of the exercise 1-b students will complete the other part (main clause) of the sentences individually..
If time lets there's another exercise on page 141 to practice so the teacher shows the ho and explains that the students need to use the correct form of the verb in brackets and will or would where necessary. The teacher does the first one with the class and students do the rest in pairs.
The teacher will Show exercise 5 on ho and asks students to add a suggestion for their lifes and for their country. Then students need to complete the notes for positive and negative consequences. In question 2 teacher tells students to think about which conditionals to use and asks 'Which ideas are realistic and and possible for them?' and 'Which are unrealistic or impossible?' The final part students discuss the suggestions together and tell each other if they agree abou the consequences as pairs. Teacher monitors and do error checking. If time allows the teacher will error corrections on the board.
