Procedure (47-60 minutes)
Start with this sentence: I'm always in a hurry in the morning when i have to get ready for work Ask students to talk about their mornings and if they have ever been in a hurry Students to take the quiz on page 2 Students compare their answers Get feedback
write down two sentences on the board I'm a slow driver I drive slowly Elicite the meaning Show them for describing a noun we use adjective (don't use an adjective to describe how someone does an action) For describing a verb we use adverb The most common -ly manner adverbs are carefully, easily, slowly,... which we call them regular adverbs Sometimes we have irregular adverbs ex: well, late, fast Drill the two sentences Students go over ther quiz again and highlight all the advers and adjectives Students write down some of them on the board and lable the adjective and adverb for each sentence Drill the sentences Practise: Students do the exercise 2A on page 3 alone Check their answers with their partners Get feedback Controlled practise: Students do the exercise 1D Check the answers in the class (feedback) Get feedback
1) Students ask and answer the questions the exercise 3B on page 3 with their partners 2) - Students are given a set of cards simply write a different adjectives and adverbs face down - Put students in group of 3 , and give each group 3 cards - Divide the board into 3 parts - Students one bY one cyme to the board, take a card and change the world ( if there is an adjective change to adverb and visa versa) - Make a sentence with an new world and write it down on the board - The gruop can finish the cards and sentences faster and accurately is the winner
