To provide fluency speaking practice in a conversation in the context of giving advice
Procedure (29-45 minutes)
Focus the students' attention on the projected pictures of common health problems. Ask Students the following question : " These people did not go to work today. why? " Get SS to think about that in pairs and then get their feedback. Ask SS to think of solutions for these people's problems (give advice)
Write three possible main ideas on the WB. - Giving advice to a friend who has an exam - Giving advice to a sick friend - Giving advice to a friend who is traveling Ask Ss to listen to the audio and choose one out of the three ideas on the WB as the general idea of the text. "What do you think the general idea of this conversation is?" Play the audio. WC feedback.
Ss listen to the same audio one more time and work individually on the listening for Sp. info practice. Ask one student to change his place. Ss then check their answers in pairs. Project the Answer key on the board
Students listen to the audio one more time and work individually on the Listening for detail practice. Divide Ss into groups and then ask them to check their answers together. Running dictation FB method: Students have to run the other room and get the correct answers.

I have a terrible headache. what do you think I should do It's sometimes helpful to take a nap. Give slips to students with different problems (example: I can't sleep at night, I don't have money to buy my friend a gift, I have a headache ...) Provide half of the SS with problem slips and they have o ask the other students for advice and then swap roles.
