By the end of the lesson, the students will have improved their reading for specific details skill as well as the ability to communicate and exchange information.
Subsidiary Aims

students will be exposed to some vocabulary items that may block their understanding of the text as a pre-teaching stage. pronunciation will be accurately by choral and individual students drill.
Procedure (18-45 minutes)
refer to my colleague`s previous lesson which was about celebrities and famous people and invite Ss to know about new famous people through their biography. show the Ss a picture of a filmmaker and ask them about the type of films they know. Ss` expected answers( action, romantic, horror...,) T. mentions that the person we will talk about is famous for making horror movies. T. elicits from Ss that filmmakers make also animated movies about princesses. show the Ss the picture of Princess Cinderella to relate the word princess to the text they will read.
eliciting from the Ss what they see on the pictures. 1- coal miner: what are people doing?(T explains the words coal=give example of the old ships that worked with coal instead of oil or fuel and miner) 2- immigrate: draw on the board using arrows to explain the word. 3- advertising: ask the Ss to give other examples of advertisements 4- charity: to help people who are in need.
after dividing the class into two. one half will work on the text of Andy Warhol and the other half will work on princess Diana. Ss will answer a true or false question. Read the text quickly and answer the following questions with true or false. Underline where you find the answer. Andy Warhol a) Andy Warhol parents immigrated to the US in 1960. b)Andy Warhol went to New York in 1949. Princess Diana a)Princess Diana and Prince Charles got divorces in 1969. b)Princess Diana died in 1997. Ss work in group of four. Whole class correction.
Ss will be divided into groups, each group contains 4 Ss. T gives instructions to Ss and set the aim of reading which is transferring knowledge to their classmates. Ss read the text he/she has and remember as much information as he/she could. T. monitors the Ss to give extra information or explain if their is any thing that blocks the flow of the reading. Ss will exchange places with the other group and try to give the information they know about the text they read to the other group. after the Ss collect the information from the other group they return to their home group and compare the information they have collected from the other group. each group will be given questions about the other text and try to answer them (test the Ss ability of remembering information)they work in groups,then they swap the papers with the other groups to double check the answers. whole class correction.
Ss are asked to put the text in order. they work in group and try to find the correct order of the text. Ss exchange the papers with the groups they have the same text to check their answers. Ss correct their answers from the texts
