The student will be shown the second part of the video where the presenter talks about M^Ms and he will be asked about defining the problems at work.
to present the topic of the problem solving and how to define the problem
To show the student one of the ways of defining the problem, particularly the MECE tree (mutually exclusive collectively exhaustive) which is widely used by McKinzey (one of the best consulting companies in the world)
To show how the MECE tree works on practice and when we need to use it or not, cause some of the problems can be insignificant. all the way through the lesson to clarify also the language needed at this stage, i.e., collocations and fixed expressions
to give the student a picture with grocery products and ask him to divide those product in accordance with the problem he has. For example, if he needs to make a cake, so which products he will need to buy first, Then which products he needs to buy after the primary ones. This is a good practice of structuring the problem and paying attention to the ad-hoc one.
To ask the student to think about the problem he might have and find the ways of its solution using the MECE tree, cause this problem might contain many sub-problems and the client needs to know which steps to take first and find the solution. It can be done as a homework as well.
