To provide accuracy and fluency speaking practice in a conversation and discussion in the context of personalising the feelings and giving examples of the situations related to their feelings.
Procedure (40 minutes)
T shows the picture of a crying woman and asks the Ss what she is doing and why they think the person is crying. Ss try to guess the reason for the person's crying. T asks students If they cry easily / a lot. Gets some answers. Put the students in pairs to discuss and complete the sentence 'I cry when ... ' They report back for their pairs. 'She cries when ... ' Gets feedback from the students.
T handsout the worksheets after explaining the instuctions: Work in pairs. Match the pictures to the sentences on the sheet. Ss work in pairs, match the pictures. T gets a quick feedback and drills the sentences afterwards. Ss engage.
T tells the Ss they wil listen to ppl at an important sports event and asks the Ss to number the sentences in Ex. 1 in Ss Book according to the listening text. Ss listen to the text and order the sentences. ( They may need to listen twice)
T clarifies the form of the target vocab using some of the sentences in Ex. 1 to show that 'angry, bored, happy, sad, nervous' are all adjectives. T elicits the answers from the Ss. They can be either used with Verb 'be' or follow the verb 'feel'. Ss work in groups to do the Exercise 3. in Ss book. They rell each other how they would feel in the situations.. Afterwards, they change groups, and they tell each other when they feel happy, sad, bored, angry, etc
T collects the mistakes of the students and notes them down while they do gw and pw, and she corrects them at the end of the class. She tries to elicit the correction from the Ss as well. Ss correct each other's mistakes.
