In this lesson, students will practice their speaking and listening skills to talk about seasons and speak about their favourite ones and what activities they like doing during them.

Procedure

Warmer/Lead-in (10-15 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

Ensure that the ss' name cards are ready. Ask them what season is it now ? Elicit other season names by asking what are the seasons? Write what they say on the board and get them to pronounce them by drilling. what month is it now? say the months of the year. Ss look at the pictures projected and try to guess seasons and months by asking them " when is summer in Tunisia? (June, July, august) CCQ: Do we wear thick socks in the summer? (show them a pair of socks) Autumn: where leaves fall down from trees Spring: flowers grow ! bees everywhere Do we go swimming in the winter?

Useful Language (5-8 minutes) • To highlight and clarify useful language for coming productive tasks

Pre-teach vocabulary: Sunbathe, by asking what do people do on the beach? Elicit from them and get them to guess which one of the pictures shows sunbathing Drilling CCQ: To sunbathe means to swim(no) To sunbathe means to lay on the beach under the sun (yes) Festival: An organized series of concerts, plays, or films, usually it happens once a year in the same place:: Carthage Drilling warm( not the same as hot) Use Spring as example Drilling cool(not the same as cold) Use Autumn as example Amazing: great, excellent Drilling Joke: A thing that someone says to make you laugh ( jokes of juha) Drilling

Productive Task(s) (10-13 minutes) • To provide an opportunity to practice target productive skills

Demonstrate to the ss that I am going to give each one of them a text and a handout containing questions.They will listen to the recording, read the text and answer the questions related to their texts. ICQ: Are you going to speak ? what are you going to do then? Monitor the ss meanwhile Tell the ss to ask their partners about their texts ICQ: what are going to do? Are you going to write? Monitor them once more

Feedback and Error Correction (6-9 minutes) • To provide feedback on students' production and to Practice recognition of seasons

Feedback: how was the exercise? easy, difficult... Tell the students that they need to look for green papers around the room which contain the answers and the person who gets all the answers correct will be the champion. Roundup: (depending on time) where I will ask the ss to summarize what they have learned today and that is to focus the ss' attention on information and to help the process of remembering it. The "what do you think" part: ask the ss : what is your favorite season? and why? what do you do in the summer?
