Procedure

Warmer/Lead-in (8-10 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

- T sets context of lesson using PPP about a vacation he took and shows other several types of vacations. - T elicits some responses from Ss on the different types of vacations on the PPP - T pre teachers vocabulary that will be used in lesson - relaxing - sightseeing - hiking - camping - barbecue - historical sights - Shopping - Baseball

Exposure (8-10 minutes) • To provide context for the target language through a text or situation

- Ss will listen to a spoken Text about the T home town. The spoken text is a list of recommendations about what to do/not do if visiting his home town - Ss will listen to the text twice and fill in the blanks - Ss will take a minute to peer check answers - T will provide an answer key on WB

Clarification (8-10 minutes) • To clarify the meaning, form and pronunciation of the target language

- The T will highlight the difference between should/shouldn't - Describe the function of should/shouldn't - You/he/she/I + should/shouldn't + go + activity

Controlled Practice (5-7 minutes) • To concept check and prepare students for more meaningful practice

- T will provide Ss with a HO testing their knowledge of you (should, shouldn't) (have to, you must) - Ss will fill in the blank using a word given in the word bank - Ss will work in pairs and answer questions - HO will have different situations in Turkey (pairs must decide will go in) - T will discuss answers with Ss

Semi-Controlled Practice (8-10 minutes) • To concept check further and prepare students for free practice

- T will put Ss into 4 groups - (Paris) (New York) (London) (Rome) - Each member of the team will be given a sheet with the name of the city and 5 things to do in the city. - Students will discuss with each other what they think they should/shouldn't do. But each students will come up with their own list of what they think is the most important - After T will ask several Ss what they came up with and will take note for possible error correction

Free Practice (8-10 minutes) • To provide students with free practice of the target language

- Ss will be given a HO with a blank table. - T will provide a model of how to ask the question and how to answer them. - Ss will have to walk around the room and interview 3 Ss about the location they chose. - They must ask (where they should go/ What they should do/ What they shouldn't do) - After Ss are done the T will ask each student to give one recommendation they received from their fellow Ss - If time, the T will give delayed error correction on the proper you use of Should/Shouldn't
