To teach them by high-lighting the vocabulary (s) on bold letters. For example: eliciting the bold letters on the text. That will stimulate their mind as they learn the meaning of the vocabularies.
To help Ss get a general idea about the text. Students should be in group if they are more than 10 and would read separately if they are 4 in the class. They are given questions to also help them focus.
Teacher put the Ss in pairs. Ss are given instructions about the detailed reading activity. Ss read the text again and mark true (T) or false ( F) 1 Manchester is famous for football 2 It rains more in Manchester than in other cities. 3 It never snows in the winter. 4 It usually snows at the beginning of the year in Chicago. 5 It isn’t very hot. 6 You can hear jazz in Chicago’s park in the summer. Set students in pairs and ask them to write sentences about their favourite weather. To give students the opportunity to use the vocabularies learnt from the lesson to note a simple sentence . Before then, the pictures of the highlghted vocabularies must have been shown to the Ss the second time to help them get a reminder about the phrases.
