Main Aims

The sts will have the opportunity to talking about green issues through variety of reading activities so that they will have a chance to develop their sub-reading skills.
Subsidiary Aims
-
To provide speaking practice in a discussion in the context of green issues
Procedure (31-42 minutes)
-T play a short video and let Ss (in pairs) guess the context of the lesson.
T put pictures up and let Ss guess what's in the text that they are going to read in pairs.
T asks Ss to read the webpage and complete the stories with the sentences a-f in pairs. -Provide answer key for FB.
-T asks Ss to work individually to read the webpage again and indicate True/false on the 5 statements. -Group check -WC FB -T will read out a sentence: Alan becomes so grumpy, when his mum gave his sister the sweets but didn't give him any. Peter is feeling knackered, because he worked long hours today, he ended up fallen asleep on the bus on his way home. -What does grumpy mean? -Do you know the exact meaning of grumpy? -Do you have a good idea of what grumpy means? -How? T asks Ss to work in pairs and read the text and match the highlighted words on the webpage to the definitions 1-5. -W/C FB: T elicit the answers from Ss.
-T put questions on the board and asks Ss to discuss in groups. -WC FB: Get Ss to share answers. -T gives individual a reading text and St have to read it first then in groups, explain to the group what they have read. -T asks Ss to discuss if you think it will work or not? -T asks if they can think of any crazy ideas? WC-FB.
