To teach the students how to express regrets in present and in the past using the expressions: I wish and If only in the contextof politics

To provide clarification and practice of the targeted language through the different tasks in the lesson.
Procedure (33-48 minutes)
T welcome the students with a smile. T aks the students,: What was yeseterday's lesson about? T shows the students some pictures of politicans on the board T asks the students :what is the common things between the people in the picture? Who are they? T discuss the pictures the board in pairs then share their ideas
T shows some sentences and pictures about critical issues in few countries (Girls in Yemen are obliged to marry at the age of 12 years old,Poverty and diseases are increasing in Nigeria,Women are highly abused in India,discrimination between the black and white in USA) T asks the students to read the sentences on the board. T tells the students : Imagine you are Presidents in these countries what can you do to change these bad conditions in those countries T aks what will you change or improve concerning the following issues Ss discuss their answers in pairs.
T aks the students about the expressions that we use to express regret T try to answer the questions T shows 2 models sentences about expressing regrets in the present and past. T calrify the meaning, form and pronounciation of the sentences T drills the sentences with the students. T aks the students to give him one model sentence expressing regret
T sets the task T gives the students a HO Ss work alone first then checks their answers in pairs. T gives the key answer for the part A of the task Ss checks their answers with the one set on HO Ss discuss part B with their partners to sharre and correct each others
T sets the rule of the game"find someone who" exp; Someone who regrets doing something in the past or in the present T demonstrates how to play the game to the Ss. Students stand up walk into the room and choose anyone to ask him about regrets. Ss swap the roles T tells the SS to use the expressions if only/I wish T hands the game HO to the Ss T checks if the students understand the game T monitors T corrects the Ss errors if there are any
