To provide clarification of modern medical science vocabulary
Procedure (30-38 minutes)
Teacher shows the students a picture of different modern medical science achievements Ask SS what they know about things they see in the picture Ask SS to discuss in pairs Ask SS to share with the whole class their ideas
SS are seated in four groups (3 or 4 students each, depending on the number of students) SS are provided with cut-ups of the vocabulary words and their definitions SS are to match the words with their correct definitions When SS are done in their groups, they move around the class and check what other groups have done Then whole class correction and feedback will follow. Back to their groups, SS are to discuss the sentence in ex. 1 and give their ideas.
SS will receive three different paragraphs SS will skim their paragraphs SS will stand up and move around the class to match their paragraphs with the correct questions SS will check their answers in pairs Whole class feedback will follow
SS will receive T / S sentences about their paragraphs to check SS work alone first SS of the same paragraphs check their answers Whole class feedbac kwill follow
SS will be asked to find words / phrases each in the paragraph they read that have the meaning stated in the worksheet they will receive from the teacher
