To provide gist, detailed, scan reading practice using a text about "My perfect weekend" in the context of weekend activities, hobbies, free time
Subsidiary Aims

Improve Ss speaking ability with short speaking activity at the end of the lesson.
Procedure (31-42 minutes)
T will start miming and try to elicit "I'm not talking" " you're talking" English or Turkish (T writes on WB) and they will choose "English" T will ask the Ss to stand up and mime one of the free time activity. Ss will try to guess then teacher make Ss to act out some verbs with her. The Ss will also say the verbs. These verbs; e.g go skiing / cooking / dancing / riding a horse
To pre-teach vocabulary that the SS will see in the text; T will reflect some pictures (PPT) on WB and put the SS into two groups.one person from each team will come up to the board and each one is given a flyswatter. T will read the word, and the students might strike the corresponding picture with their flyswatter. The first student to hit the correct vocabulary word wins. T will finish this activity when all the Ss participated once and T drills the pronunciation of the difficult words.
T will divide the class into two groups. T will show recap videos of Jamie Cullum and Shilpa Shetty and ask “What is his job?” “What is her job?” What does he do at the weekends?” What does she do at the weekends? T will give WC feedback. Group A will deal with the character Jamie Cullum, group B will be engaged with the Shilpa Shetty. T will ask them to read it quickly (3 mins.) and answer T/F questions. T will ask ICQs "Are you writing?" : YES "Is every sentence true?" : NO T will give HOs, SS will find the true sentences SS peer check T monitor will closely T will give group FB and then WC feedback.
T will show the task on WB. T will regroup Ss so Group A will see Group B's text and share their ideas.T will ask Ss to compare the free time activities of the people in the text.
Ss will write down two things they like doing at the weekends on a piece of paper without their names. T will collect all papers and shuffles them. Then, Ss take one and read it aloud. The other students have to guess who it is.
