To provide gist reading practice using a text about The Blind Assasin in the context of a woman committing suicide

To enable students to have clarification and pronunciation of vocabulary
Procedure (32-48 minutes)
Warmer/Lead-in (3-3 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students
I will show a picture of a woman in car to build interest and elicit title for the text. Ss tell the story behind the picture.
Pre-Reading (10-12 minutes) • To get a general idea of the text
Ss read and give story a title. 2 min. ICQ: are you going to read every word? Pair check (PC) then whole class feed back WCFB.
Reading for detail (10-12 minutes) • To provide practice in reading for deeper understanding of the text
Ss read 2nd section of the text and do reading. Then ask them to work in pairs to answer the questions.
Reading for details Iris and laura (6-16 minutes) • Ss answer specific questions about Iris and Laura
SS will answer questions in #4. Ss will work in pairs to answer about feelings of Iris at different stages of text. They will be allowed to go back to the text to answer.
Post-Reading (3-5 minutes) • To provide with an opportunity to respond to the text and expand on what they've learned
WCFB and answer any question that Ss may have.
