There are many English social expressions used during our daily life. Ss should be provided with these expressions to use them during their life.Our lesson today is talking about these expressions.

Procedure

Warmer/Lead-in (3-5 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

-I will Show pictures in activity 1 and ask the learners to determine where the people are. -I will play the audio of T3.11 to listen to these expressions well and connecting between these expressions and the places where they can use these expressions.

Pre-Reading/Listening (10-12 minutes) • To prepare students for the text and make it accessible

-Have learners roleplay a dialogue for each picture. -Give learners gapped conversations and have them match to the pictures and fill in gaps. -I will listen and check their answers.

While-Reading/Listening #1 (10-12 minutes) • To provide students with less challenging gist and specific information reading/listening tasks

-I will check that the students understand the meaning of the phrases. -I will drill pronunciation, especially intonation. I will use the recording or drill myself. -I will have learners practice the dialogues together. -I will provide error correction and feedback as needed.

While-Reading/Listening #2 (14-16 minutes) • To provide students with more challenging detailed, deduction and inference reading/listening tasks

-I will give them new pictures or situations and have them roleplay dialogues for each. -I will monitor and collect errors for delayed error correction.

Post-Reading/Listening (8-10 minutes) • To provide with an opportunity to respond to the text and expand on what they've learned

-I will help the learners to have dialogues and write by themselves. -I will try to provide them with more practice and drill to have it skillfully.
