Show learners a social media profile page. Ask students to brainstorm, quietly, about what information they would include in their own profiles. Follow up with whole class feedback.
Present learners with the profile provided on page 19 example 1. This will be presented to students as a matching activity handout. Students will work in groups of three or four. Questions will be on the left side, answers will be on the right side. The answers will be mixed around. Students will match the correct answer, with the correlating question. Answers will be checked by students, using the attached answer key.
Draw attention to the target language for this lesson - being the items of personal information. Check that they understand the meanings.
Highlight target question and answers on the board. DRILL.
Student's will complete example 2, in pairs. They will use the profile on page 19 problem 1 in New Headway 4th Edition Beginner Student's book, to complete example 2. The example contains questions such as "what's her last name", "what's her name", "where's she from", etc. After they're finished, they will pair check. Students will then listen to recording 3.4 to check their answers. Provide error correction and feedback as needed.
Mingle activity. Students will receive personal information cards from New Headway 4th Edition Beginner Teachers book. They will work in pairs. Student A will get the information cards with all the information complete. Student B will get the information cards with information missing. Student B will ask Student A questions about their personal information in order to complete their cards. After this is completed, students will trade. Student A will get cards with information missing, Student B will get complete information cards.
